Friday Etsy Finds - MySugarDoll

Last chance to get naughty this month but we gotta dress the part. A great spot for this is My Sugar Doll.

Sugar4

Shay began designing lingere and swimwear in 2002 and experiments with different sides of girliness whether it's cutesy, punky, gothy, or even sporty. It's all the same kind of FUN!

Sugar1

With the Summer official here, make sure you check out her swimwear too! If you like what you see, you can keep tabs with her by adding her MySpace profile. Blue wig not for sale.

Friday Etsy Finds - Cheesecake Burlesque

So you think it takes a special kind of person to get up on stage and wear fringe and pasties and dance around? Sure but that person could also be YOU in the comfort of your own home, or for an audience of one whether it's your significant other or your reflection in the mirror.   Here's a shop for the burlesque queen in you, CheesecakeBurlesque.etsy.com.

Cheese2

God Bless America!!! This shop has pasties a-plenty! Different colors and styles. Also available are scarfs, shirts, and panties - flashy and suttle.

Cheese1 Cheese3

There's something for everyone and every occassion! You can have a triple "E" cup or a minus "A" and still feel empowered and sexy with our pasties.

You can also check out The Cheesecake Burlesque Revue to see the pasties in action!

Friday Etsy Finds - NancyFarmer

Nancy Farmer set up shop at Etsy to showcase her art. She explores oddities, devils, angels, demons, but also a taste for fetish.

She has a series of Feitishdollies cards that I just love. Funny stuff!

You can learn more about her by visiting her website: www.nancyfarmer.net.

Friday Etsy Finds - KINKY!

Ok enough with the nice stuff, let's get dirty this month! I'm feeling kind of naughty so that's where we are going with the FEF's this month.  Judging from the amount of naughtiness going on at Etsy, I may need to devote a 2nd month to this but lets deal with today.  Today we get kinky! That is visiting Kinky.etsy.com.

Whatever could those be? You're gonna have to visit the shop to find out!  This is a great shop for bachelorette parties. You can really stock up with naughty candy and naughty soaps.

Easily offended - then avert your eyes for you may go blind!

Did I mention keychains? Cute piggy ones...

She also runs two other Etsy shops that are a little more kid-friendly, DuckySoaps and Sweet Lollipop Shop.

Friday Etsy Finds - PetitPoulailler

The final "Vintage" FEF for this month goes to PetitPoulailler. There you will find toys, jewelry, photos, fashion, and other terrific findings.

Petit1

From their profile...I *adore* a good treasure hunt. There is nothing more satisfying than finding that which was lost.

Petit2

She also has a lovely blog you can pay a visit to: Three French Hens.

Friday Etsy Finds - MyVintagePage

I love doing FEF and finding new shops to showcase.  This week was particularly fun going through the great items in My Vintage Pad.

Mypad2

A porcelain doll kit?!?!  They also have a Vintage Ceramic Toilet Bowl Ash Tray, no kidding!

Once again it was hard for me to choose which images to display, so make sure you pay them a visit and check out all the great finds.

Mypad1

My Vintage Pad has items that will give your home that little something extra for fun, kitschy decor!

Friday Etsy Finds - PassionForVintage

Oh yes the ever so controversial "Vintage" finds on Etsy continues. I think it's pretty neat that shops like PassionForVintage exist.

Maybe because I live in New York and believe it or not, it is HARD to find thrifting treasures in this town!

Passion1 Passion3

I don't know about you, but I am loving these cups! It's the colors, it screams PULP SUSHI!!!! I don't know how she does it but she finds new treasures to post every day!

Friday Etsy Finds - VintageKitchen

Vintage is a hot word these days. Almost as hot as the word Green So with that, I decided to take it back this month and go Vintage as the theme.  The first for this month is TheVintageKitchen.

Her Etsy shop provides wonderful antique finds for your kitchen. They just don't make items with detail like this anymore.

Vintkit1 Vintkit2

Instead everyone has gone all contemporary and streamline with design, not that there's anything wrong with that. A little charm every now and then can go a long way especially after coming home from a long days work.

Vintkit3

Gabreial is the real deal! She is the Editor of Vintage Indie Magazine and also runs Indie Wedding Guide.

Friday Etsy Finds - Shrinkle

I first came across Shrinkle on MySpace and thought Really cute! But I'm not in the demographic... Yes I consider myself an old fuddy-duddy but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate fun, bright, and youthful pieces. Trashy clothes for classy ho's!! C'mon you know you love it!!!

I began designing clothes under the name Shrinkle back in 2002 while I was a journalism student at Cal State Hayward. After graduation, I ditched the idea of ever pursuing a career in journalism when I realized I couldn't pry myself from my sewing machine long enough to apply for a "real" job.

You know what I also enjoy seeing? When people take their shops seriously and what I mean by that is presentation. I love how these pieces are presented. It's not just a girl standing in her bedroom. You can see time and thought was put into this and I respect that in an up and coming business/designer.

You can stay in the know by checking out her MySpace page and LiveJournal.

Friday Etsy Finds - Fluxproductions

It's time go with someone a little more local for this week's FEF.  Plus I'm always excited to showcase male Etsy sellers (it's not just girls fun), but I digress....Check out Flux Productions, a designer from Brooklyn, NY (Fort Greene).

Flux1 Flux2

Ryan studied art Pratt Insititute and Cooper Union in NY and began using clothing as his canvas and he went from there. He used organic cotton for a light airy comfortable feel.  He makes for the fellas too!

Flux is a small company which emphasizes care and craft rather than mass production. Every piece is printed by hand in my Fort Greene studio and each piece is unique.

Friday Etsy Finds - Wildewear

It was very difficult for me to pick which images to use for this entry because Wildewear from Boston, MA has SO much to choose from.

Wilde1 Wilde

Sweaters and knitwear are artful one-of-a-kind creations with eco-friendly mindfulness. Each piece is uniquely handmade using an imaginative array of recycled sweaters, new and vintage embellishments and buttons. May we all be inspired to be mindful and recycle in creative ways.

Wilde3 Wilde4

Gorgeous casual wear for all walks of life.

Friday Etsy Finds - Malam

Now that Spring is here, this is where I pay the most attention to fashion, sure I may be late in the game as folks are already designing NEXT Spring's lines but I thought that this month I would feature the many talented clothing designers you will find on Etsy.    Yes you can find high quality pieces to wear browsing through Etsy and a first place to visit is Malam.

Malam1 Malam2

Marie is a French designer from Paris who enjoys using ancient, rare, vintage or unexpected fabrics, hand embroidery, paint, antique lace, prints, quilting for her unique pieces.  Her clothing is child-like and very playful but still with a darker grown up twist (see her signature Goblin hoods).  I just adore her short jackets.

Malam3

If you want to see more, and why wouldn't you? Check out more of her line at www.poupees-perdues.com.

Friday Etsy Finds - KillTaupe

Alas, we end this kooky, Lowbrow FEF month with KillTaupe. Jason comes from "the land of strip malls and mcmansions, better known as Metro Detroit".  Etsy kind of beat me to it by making him the featured seller March 7, 2008 but whatever, I've had this entry saved since the end of February, no lie.

Killtaupe1_2

I love dysfunctional craziness presented in bright, colorful ways. KillTaupe offers originals at VERY affordable prices along with prints, magnets, and stickers. All featuring manic rabbits, zombies, cracked-out cupcakes, and more!

Killtaupe3 Killtaupe2

Please save this man from going completely mad and pay him a visit. He might accept payments in Red Bulls.

Friday Etsy Finds - Rapscallion Design

The FEF this week is another Low Brow artist that depicts their art on canvas and on clothing, Rapscallion Design based out of "Medicine Hat" Alberta, Canada - gotta love that name!

Rapscall1 Rapscall2 Rapscall3

I swiped this from their MySpace profile...

Sure robots are fast and dont talk back, but wouldn't it help you sleep at night to know that your clothes were printed by hand, the hand of the person that actually designed them? Well have we got a deal for you. Our clothing is printed by hand, the hand of the person that actually designed them! Looks like you'll be able to kick that sleeping pill dependency once and for all.

Coming soon to the Etsy shop will be jewelry and more one of a kind items.

Friday Etsy Finds - Morning Lori

Over the last ten years I have seen an explosion of cute spooky or weird toys that I wish were available when I was growing up (ie: Living Dead Dolls). It is even more special when you come across a talent like Morning Lori.

Mlori2 Mlori2

Artist, sculpter and dollmaker, this Cincinnati native is a doll herself. Her creations are from another world, a whimsical place where oddities are lovable creatures and fantasy is the norm.   I think Guillermo Del Toro is missing a love child.

I imagine a room full of my work as an exhibit compiled of images and specimens collected by a team of adventurous scientists who discovered a portal to another realm. Who knows what they’ll bring back next or what discoveries lay ahead.

Mlori1 Mlori1

Love her!!! Love her blog too! The Morninglori Vine.

Friday Etsy Finds - BabyGimp

Last month I had a theme where every FEF had a "Sweets" theme and I enjoyed it so much, I think I'm going to do a theme for every month.  The theme doesn't have to necessarily relate to the month itself. It was only appropriate that February would be devoted to sweets since it conjures up the idea of Valentine's Day and candy, at least for me it does.

So the theme for March will be all things LOWBROW, now it's not for everyone but it is definitely an art form that I have loved for years. I am a huge fan of artist like Shag, Coop, and Mitch O'Connell so I figure why not a month for those also inspired by the art form?

The first feature of the month is a doozy!

Babygimp1 Babygimp2

BabyGimp brings a unique touch to traditional iconic imagery and brings them back with a new perspective.  Frankenstein is one of my favorite classic monsters and I always love seeing new life brought back to him, no pun intended.

Babygimp3

Original art, statues, toys, and wallets all brought you with a kitschy taste.  So bring your sense of humor and check him out.

Friday Etsy Finds - Danae's Bath & Body

After lusting after all of these sweet finds this past month, one would feel pretty guilty and dirty with naughty cravings because you know you want more!  Here is a nice way to make that transition.  The final sweets find for this month is danaesbathandbody.etsy.com.   Sorry, you don't eat these either, or wear them, you lather yourself with them!

Danae1_2 Danae3

Cupcake fills your tub with lots of frothy, fragrant bubbles and releases cocoa butter into the bath water. You will leave the tub feeling soft, relaxed, and decadent.

Come to mama!!!!

Friday Etsy Finds - Robin's Jewelry Box

Usually I try to keep the FEF's to newer Etsy shops but how could I possibly have a "Sweets" theme month and not mention Robin's Jewelry Box???

Robin1  Robin2

Robin3  Robin4

These are INSANE!  I see a lot of polymer clay charms and they're good, real good! It is definitely a skill I do not have.  Robin's Jewelry Box really takes the art to a new level of mouth watering, taste bud tingleyness<--my word.   Cakes, cookies, ice cream, and even healthier charms for you veggie lovers out there, but I'm not here to talk about vegetables! It's all about the sweet tooth.

What better to go with dessert than coffee? Cappachino? She's got it covered too.  Grab your shopping cart and treat yourself to something decadent!

Friday Etsy Finds - Poison and Antidote

It is a fact of life, sometimes the yummiest things are bad for you, luckily in this case you don't have to worry about that.  You don't eat polymer clay, you wear it!  Poison and Antidote isn't looking to harm anyone.

Poisonantedote1 Poisonantedote2

But it is tempting isn't it? Just look at the glaze on the Chocolate Charm Bracelet. This adorable shop is helping this Jersey Girl through college! Go pay her visit, pick up a treat, and keep tabs with her with her LiveJournal Community and her DeviantArt Profile.

==========================================================================

I noticed there is something funky going on with my links.  I usually have it set up in alphabetical order but it's coming out wonky.  No it is not set up in order of preference. I love all the "Pulp Reads" sites.  Speaking of which, one of the latest links added is DIY City. It is a new online magazine that launched yestserday.  I can proudly say that last night I sat at my computer and went through every single page. The first issue focused on New York, the next issue will be New Orleans.  It is a very well put together site and you will find some familiar faces in there (not me but that's ok).
