I shared a couple of weeks ago a new project that was in the works. Now I am happy to announce my new website: Hudson Valley Makes!
I started this website to help independent crafters, designers, hobbyists and artists in this region of New York state. Hudson Valley Makes is your go-to site for finding new local businesses to support, seeking out vendors for an upcoming event, promoting the great talent that lies in this artistic region, and scouting out the next local craft show! In the upcoming months, look for features where we will get to know a little more about the people behind the businesses in the blog section of the site. It even has it's own Twitter @hvmakes.
I was stoked when I showed this site to a friend and she said "the HV craft community has been needing this for a long time." That's what I was thinking ever since I moved up here two years ago. I grew up in New York City and I've been spoiled. I didn't really discover much of "upstate" until the last 10 years and I really do love it. I would much rather live in New York's suburbs than the city. I don't miss it. There is so much to explore, so many great people to meet (which I have), and so much creative activity that I can't help but be super enthusiastic about putting something like this together.
Pulp Sushi isn't going anywhere! And neither is this blog. I love the challenge of time-management, I consider it one of my strongest traits. Hmmmm, I wonder if there are any good Time-Managment e-books I can check out? Maybe we should all come back here tomorrow for ANOTHER annoucement! :)
