So Fall is officially here and I couldn't be happier. The changing of the leaves, drop in temperature, and increase in layers have me giddy and excited for my favorite season. Of course my birthday is in the Fall (hooray for Scorpios), but that's just the icing on the cake--more like whip cream on the freshly baked pecan pie. Speaking of pecan pie I have been inspired lately by the flavors and fragrances of autumn. Personally, I think one should always take inspiration from the things that make their heart flutter. One of my major inspirations happens to be food. So to honor some of my delectable treats this time of year, I have selected a few outfit pairings that hopefully do my favorite goodies justice. What are my sinful treats you ask? Allow me to elaborate.
I'm a strong believer in that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but a candied apple...now that's a horse of a different color. I mean come on, a crisp green apple is already delicious, but add a patent red candy coating and I am walking on sunshine!
I love candy, but it seems like this time of year I can't get enough of the "artificial" corn. If it was up to me, it would be part of the vegetable food group. It qualifies in the way it looks and the name. Who says you can't have a sweet, delicious veggie and eat it too? I swear, it's like dyed sugar crack--I can't get enough!
When it comes to pie, the ultimate decadence for me is pecan pie. There is just something about the crunch of the pecans and smooth texture of the filling that makes my heart sing with autumn joy. Sure it's sweet on the lips and mean on the hips, but I love it anyway. For a dessert, it is one smooth criminal.
