We ♥ It - Gerbera

The subject matter for this week's We ♥ It post is my favorite flower, Gerbera Daisies. They're so pretty and come in so many fun colors. They last a good while too if you keep the water in the vase fresh. Looking at them makes me happy.  What's your favorite flower?

I'm so glad I took today off from work. I'm so tired yet I have so many things to do around the apartment. We got home kind of late after the concert last night - which was pretty awesome by the way.  After the show we went to a diner and ate breakfast, best French Toast I think I've had ever.  Nice thick slices drowning in syrup, yum! Although maybe going to bed on a full stomach isn't the best thing to do but whatever, it's not like I do this every week.   Happy Hump Day!

Another New Necklace

But I also can't hang like I use to and even though it's probably not going to be a late night, I have a Summer Day I would like to use up. Going to concerts take a lot out of me now, I can't stand around for a few hours without my back starting to hurt a little. I'm an old woman. =P

Fall Felt

Maybe it's all of these "Back To School" fliers I'm seeing in the newspaper and the heatwave getting to my brain, but I am ready for the Fall to arrive and my latest beaded felt necklace may be a reflection of that.

It can be worn as a choker or a little longer.  It has a 2 inch connector.

Sale On DaWanda

While Etsy is in the process of accepting other currencies on it's website, you don't have to wait if you shop using the Euro (€).  I don't talk about my DaWanda shop as much but it's there and it's updated. You can find selected items on sale for 20% off which I just set up today.

New Direction

After my Clearance/Sale annoucement yesterday, I was blessed with a few sales and even reached a milestone 500th item sold on Etsy! Thank you Ms. Tallahassee, FL - your package is on the way with extra goodies included. :)

I must confess that my weekend was not so great and a little upsetting.  Although I did have an epiphany of sorts. It's all about being true to yourself and what you (as the designer) like to make. If you start to lose that vision, it stops being fun and it hasn't been fun for me. I will continue to make jewelry but after four years of producing certain styles of work, I'm taking Pulp Sushi in a different direction. It's been long overdue and I hope those of you who have been around will continue to like what I have to offer.

When I finally have an office/workspace to call my own, I plan to have Jen Ramos Blogs & Coffee print hanging on my wall.  She has just released it in a new color.

Of course I would still be very happy with the original too. :)

Breakfast is probably my favorite meal of the day. I can eat it any time, not just in the morning. Maybe it's my sweet tooth talking (muffins, pancakes, waffles, french toast, SYRUP!).

Gerbera Daisy Flower Hairpins

It has been a long while since I had hair pins in my shop so these were posted this past weekend.  Who doesn't like to have flowers in their hair?  These are the only colors I have available.

I was happy to wake up this morning to an Etsy sale. I'm currently at 494 sales. Hope I can reach the milestone of 500 soon, I'll even include a little something extra. :)

New Etsy Banner

On my continuing quest to make my shop stand out in the ginormous sea of Etsy jewelry sellers, I made a new banner.  Hopefully it reflects what one would expect from my shop before you scroll down. The first couple of seconds of a first impression is the most important in determining whether someone will to continue check out your shop or move on.  Of course the impression I want people to have is "Oooh! This looks fun!" and scroll down.  I hope to have more new items to share on Monday.

The walk to work this morning was quite delightful. The heat wave in New York seems to have broke and I walked out of the train station greeted by rain and a cool breeze. *Sigh* On most days I discourage seeing rain if I have to be outside but we really needed it. I don't like looking at brown grass.   They say there will be thunderstorms throughout the day. Looks like my lunch will be a Cup O' Noodle from the magazine stand downstairs. Good thing I find them tasty! Have a good weekend everyone!

The above is one of Typepad's "Quick Compose" questions that I usually ignore. But this week, the long weekend has kind of thrown me a little out of whack so no We ♥ It post this week. Actually, I think this heat wave has fried my brain and made my thought process slow to a halt. I should be back to normal next week - I hope. There's some nonsense going on offline that I'll spare you the details of. I like to keep this blog a happy place.

New Week - New Bracelet

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts but it was a holiday weekend here in the states with not a cloud in the sky so I took full advantage of it with the sunburn to prove it.

I took care of some business by dropping off some jewelry at Blackbird Attic in Beacon, NY. My first local consignment. I did a consignment once before in another state and uh, I have no idea where that person went. She kind of vanished. Thankfully, I gave her stuff so long ago, it's not even worth getting back (if she has it) so yeah, consignments can be tricky but I have a good feeling about this place and it's close by. I also know the owner from when I was in the {NewNew}.

Afterward I went over the Dream In Plastic and picked up this cute little deer for my plant, love her!  Yes, it's a she.

Of course I went to see some fireworks on July 4th and discovered an amazing BBQ restaurant in the process.  I was so excited  as I was eating my food, I was smiling the whole time. I had a fairly bad dining out experience the night before which I don't care to relive so this BBQ place totally made up for it.

Yesterday I posted a new bracelet on Etsy.  This might look a little familiar as I have sold one just like it a few months ago.  I finally got around to making another one because the heart beads are pretty rad.

Back on June 18th, it was Etsy's 5 year birthday.  To celebrate they had a contest on their Twitter where they selected 5 random people who would tweet what they would like to get from Etsy as a birthday present.  Why not? I said I would like to get a recycled notebook from 11m2 - I had recently hearted this item and I learned about them when they started advertising through one of my Project Wonderful slots.   Long story short, I was one of the winners and happy to have received my prize in the mail all the way from Hamburg, Germany and it's adorable.

Gila's launched her shop in May 2010 named after the size of her studio, 11 square meters or 118 square feet.  Her hand painted ipod cases are really cool too.
