I'm on my second cup of coffee this morning so I'm ready to post about Saturday's Handmade Cavalcade. I'm not quite sure where to begin. Perhaps a video presentation?
WOW!
I had such a great time Saturday and am so proud that all of our work paid off. It was a huge success and just a non-stop crowd from 10 am till 5 pm. I barely sat down, didn't really get a chance to check out anyone else. Towards the end of the day I did a quick run through on the other floors but even then I didn't get to say hi to everyone. We all did very well. I made more money in this one event than I did in the Beacon, BIM, and Rhinebeck show combined, crazy huh?
Here's me earlier in the day, it was a bit chilly in the "Downtown" floor but it warmed up as the traffic flowed. It was constantly packed. You can see more pictures from me and some of the other team members in the NewNew In Action Flickr Pool and also here.
That's me in the center chatting with fellow member Wai Sze and Molly from MShoelace. I think the red walls added to the festive feel for the day.
There was a great vibe among the vendors and I think it rubbed off on the customers because everyone just seemed so happy and in good spirits. A lot of good feedback was left with the vendors.
Well....I did have one rude customer who was trying on a pair of earrings. Big no-no from me. You can try on any of my pieces but please not the earrings. When I asked her to not try on the earrings she said something like "That's an old rule!" and started walking away. Whatever. That's MY rule! Do you go to H&M and take the earrings out of the cards and put them through your lobes? No. I'm not comfortable with that, I know a lot of people who are not comfortable with that. It didn't ruin my day because I had so many sales, one crazy woman is not gonna faze me, I am a native New Yorker afterall! Besides, the other customers more than made up for it, especially the one lady who came to my table specifically looking for my Love Gun necklace. That's a good feeling. :)
So I have some serious work cut out for me. I have a pictures to take of items I made but have yet posted on Etsy. I am happy to say that some of the items seen in this entry will not be making an appearance hee hee.
I don't know how I was able to pull this off all in one day but later on Saturday night, my boyfriend and I went to see Twisted Sister do their Christmas Show in Times Square. Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me. I perked up and had a great time. Very good weekend overall!

I am so glad you had a great time and wonderful sales! I wish I could have gone but had some damn party to go to....hopefully I will catch you soon at your next event! :)
